The ViaRhôna passes the front door
The ViaRhôna links Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean along the Rhône. In Tain-l'Hermitage it runs along the quays, fifty metres from the house: a natural stop, for the whole route or a single stage.
The route
From the lake to the sea, via Tain
The ViaRhôna, around 800 kilometres from Geneva to the Camargue, mostly on greenways. Tain-l'Hermitage is at the halfway point, between Lyon and Avignon.
Southwards, the Tain – Valence stage is about twenty kilometres, almost entirely traffic-free along the river: flat, ideal for families. Northwards, Saint-Vallier, Andance and the slopes of Saint-Joseph.
From the quays of Tain, the Marc Seguin footbridge also lets you cross to the Ardèche side for a loop through Tournon.

Stopping at the house
Tell us when you book that you are travelling by bike: we arrange shelter for the bikes overnight. Washing machine and kitchen at your disposal, terrace for the end of a stage.
Tain-l'Hermitage–Tournon station, 500 m away, lets you shorten or extend the ride by regional train, bike on board, towards Lyon or Valence.
Bike hire, standard and electric, is available in Tain and Tournon.
